Five Years Strong — And Still Raising the Bar

For the past five years, Brain Candy has continued to strengthen its partnership with Align JV, working collaboratively to enhance operational capability and safety performance across the project.

Through a bespoke programme of scenario-based assessments, we have supported Align’s on-site operational teams and Supervisors in identifying strengths, developing capability, and embedding best practice. This innovative approach was recognised with a ‘Highly Commended’ award at the HS2 Safe at Heart Awards — a testament to the impact of true collaboration.

Alongside this, Brain Candy continues to actively support Align’s Occupational Health programme and Safe at Heart surveys, reinforcing a culture where safety and wellbeing remain at the forefront of operations.

About Align JV

Align JV brings together three internationally recognised, privately owned infrastructure leaders:

• Bouygues Travaux Publics (a subsidiary of Bouygues Construction)

• Sir Robert McAlpine

• VolkerFitzpatrick (a subsidiary of VolkerWessels)

In July 2017, Align JV was awarded the C1 package of the High Speed 2 (HS2) — a landmark infrastructure programme in the UK. The C1 section comprises 21.6km of high-speed rail infrastructure through a rural environment, including:

• A 3.37km viaduct

• 16.04km of twin-bored tunnel

• Five vent shafts providing intervention and tunnel ventilation facilities
